Exploring the Inner Addict: Addiction, Spirituality and Internal Family Systems with Richard Schwartz, PhD

Imagine earning 5.5 of them learning a groundbreaking method for treating addiction with one of the greatest leaders in the psychotherapy world today.

Registration is now open for “Exploring the Inner Addict: Addiction, Spiritualty and Internal Family Systems (IFS),”a day-long conference featuring keynote speaker Richard Schwartz, PhD on Friday, April 24, 2020. The conference is sponsored by the Psychotherapy and Spirituality Institute (PSI), an interfaith, inter-disciplinary collective dedicated to integrating mind, body and spirit into mental health treatment.

Richard Schwartz is the founder of Internal Family Systems (IFS), a therapeutic school that combines systems thinking with the view that the mind is composed of discrete yet intertwined sub-personalities or “parts” with their own viewpoints and purposes.

Addiction has classically been defined as a disease and a compulsive behavior that interferes with daily living. Thus “addicts” must remain hyper-vigilant against the ever-present enemy of addiction. Schwartz, however, will reframe addiction as sacred protection from deeper pain that can be healed and transformed with curiosity and compassion. Thus, loving our inner addicted parts is the key to liberating them.

5.5 Continuing Education Credits and/or Units (CEUs) are available to LMFTs, LMHCs, LCSWs, LMSWs, and LCATs.

Early Bird registration is open through Feb. 29, 2020.
