Reimagining Mental Health Through a Spiritual Lens
Featuring Shivam Gosai in a recent case study from the Fetzer Institute
The Fetzer Institute recently published a case study, A Sacred Space to Be Whole: Reimagining Mental Health Through a Spiritual Lens, which explores emerging models of mental health care that integrate spirituality, relational presence, and community-based healing. The piece features contributions from Shivam Gosai, LMHC, a former clinician at the Psychotherapy & Spirituality Institute who continues to serve as a PSI instructor.
The case study offers a thoughtful reflection on the role of sacred space and inner life in therapeutic work—an approach that resonates with PSI’s long-standing commitment to integrating psychological and spiritual care. We are encouraged by the alignment between Fetzer’s vision and PSI’s ongoing exploration of healing practices that honor depth, complexity, and meaning.
This spring, Shivam will offer an introductory course on depth psychology for healing professionals. Participants will engage core principles of the field, explore the symbolic language of dreams and the body, and reflect on the hidden forces that shape inner and outer life. Designed to support both clinical insight and personal development, the course invites practitioners to deepen their relationship with the unconscious and cultivate practices of attentive curiosity.
We invite you to read the full case study at the link above. Registration for Shivam’s upcoming course will be available soon.
