Kate Curtis, LMHC, CASAC, CGP is a psychotherapist and counselor practicing individual, couples, and group therapy at the Psychotherapy and Spiritualty Institute.

People seek therapy for a variety of reasons, whether it is a short-term difficulty in coping with life stressors, struggles with overwhelming worry or sadness, relationship difficulties, or a desire to understand oneself more fully and find deeper meaning in one’s life.  Kate listens empathically and works collaboratively to mutually determine the particular treatment goals of her clients.  She is committed to creating a safe, nurturing space for her clients to explore and better understand their feelings, ways of thinking, and patterns that create difficulties in their lives.  She strives to help her clients lead a more fulfilling, meaningful life by utilizing integrative and evidenced-based practices.

Kate received her Master’s in Pastoral Counseling at Fordham University where she focused on the intersection of spirituality and mental health.  She is a Certified Group Psychotherapist, having completed post-graduate training in psychodynamic group psychotherapy at Eastern Group Psychotherapy Society.  Additionally, she has specialized training in Maternal Mental Health and Perinatal Loss. She is an active member of American Counseling Association as well as both Eastern Group and American Group Psychotherapy Associations.

Prior to joining PSI, Kate worked as a primary counselor at Hazelden, an addiction treatment facility in NYC.  She developed a specialty working with young adults and adults struggling with addiction and other mood disorders.
